Hypnotherapist in Central London, Worthing & Seaford

Clinical Hypnotherapy is simply a comfortable, relaxing state where you just close your eyes and drift off.

You can see our Hypnotherapist Marylebone in Central London, Worthing in West Sussex or Seaford in East Sussex.

Hypnotherapy is not to be confused with stage hypnosis – this is very different. If you wish to spend your session clucking like a chicken, that’s fine, but we think you’d rather make the most of your investment and actually make positive personal change that’s more beneficial for you!

Hypnosis is an “altered state of awareness” meaning you choose to relax or learn how to relax. By doing this, you are not busy thinking about all those things you need to do, re-playing that same conversation in your head that’s been bugging you all week, or trying to remember something you forgot ! You just change your state, from tense, nervous, stressed or worried, to being relaxed, calm, comfortable and safe. You become aware of just the Hypnotherapist’s voice as they guide you through easy ways to become even more relaxed. By being willing to do this, you are being smart enough to learn how easy it is to relax and quieten down your busy thinking mind (conscious mind).

Quite often, you’ll find that you need to be taken out of that hypnotic trance you’ve been in for so long. You know, where you feel that others are making decisions for you (think brand marketing), you just have to buy that designer handbag, or that bottle of wine will make everything all okay ! Marketing and advertising is all around us, wherever we are, whatever we are doing. Experiment … an hour or a full day and notice what you notice happening.

Young woman with anxiety and depression

We all regularly experience hypnotic trances throughout the day, lasting from a split second to several minutes. Think about when you are driving your car; how many times have you driven part of the journey and not remembered it ? When you are watching TV; how often do you ‘drift off’ and then miss a chunk of the programme ? When someone is talking to you; you completely miss what they just said because you “went into a daydream”. These are all examples of being in a trance. Your conscious mind switches off but your sub-conscious mind continues to work, keeping you perfectly safe.

When you are in a hypnotic trance and a relaxed state, this is the ideal time to speak to your sub-conscious mind because you are more open to positive suggestions that are right and appropriate for you; with no interference from your conscious mind !

Remember: Light trance is just as effective as deep trance.
